We use only high quality brake rotors. The right material, properly cast and heat treated, with the correct finish will ensure smooth noise free stopping for many miles.
Brake pads need to be composed of the correct material to ensure long life, proper stopping power and with very little or no brake fade when hot, not all brake pads meet this criteria, use the right brake pad.
Brake calipers, hydraulic and mechanical hardware will not last forever, the second and third brake job does not last as long as the original because brake calipers stick, bind and will not release the brake pad from the rotor. This will cause the brakes to get hot, wear out the pads and distort the rotors. The best brake jobs always get new or remanufactured brake calipers.
Rear drum brakes do not work as hard as front brakes do. Drums can be reused if still within machining tolerance. Severely distorted drums must be replaced. Brake shoe friction material needs to be correct for the car other wise glazing or locking up can occur. Springs, hold down hardware and self adjusting parts do get weak and wear out, besides those components are generally not very expensive. Rear brake wheel cylinders are the hydraulic portion of the rear brakes, they should be replaced every time a rear brake job is performed even if they are not leaking. They will leak after the brake shoes are replaced because the cup seal in the cylinder will not survive the "trip" back to the center of the cylinder, a necessary step when installing rear brake shoes
