What is a tune-up?
Tune-up means many different things to many different people.
We are not going to attempt to define what it means to other people or other shops, we are going to define what it means at Ben White Automotive.
A tune-up is not a cure all for every engine performance problem or “check engine” light on problem.
A tune-up is a systematic replacing of various filters, ignition components, pcv components and a thorough cleaning of air intake systems and fuel injection systems.
A good tune-up in our opinion should also include an engine diagnostic test and an onboard computer scan to find any sensor or computer control system problems.
At Ben White Automotive our tune-up’s typically include the following items:
Replace Spark Plugs.
Replace Distributor Cap & Rotor (Where applicable).
Replace Ignition Cables.
Adjust Ignition Timing (Where applicable).
Replace Air Filter.
Replace Fuel Filter.
Clean & Adjust Throttle Plates.
Flush Fuel Injectors.
Replace PCV Valve.
Prices vary with different makes and models
